The White River Humane Society relies heavily on volunteers to accomplish our mission.  The following opportunities will let you experience the many ways you can make a difference in the life of the animals at the WRHS.  Call 812-279-1995 for more information.
Animal Care Volunteer
   -Cleaning Kennels
   -Walking Dogs
   -Bathing Dogs
   -Socializing Cats
Offsite Adoption Volunteer
   -Help with offsite adoptions at Pet Smart
   -Help with offsite at downtown location and other local businesses.
Fundraising
   -Assist in organizing events
   -Assist during events
   -Stuffing envelopes
Administrative (both locations)
   -Filing
   -Answering Phone
Community Outreach
   -Going out into the Community with Employee to distribute material
   -Education Program

Purina Weight Circle Program

Look for a weight circle like this on participating Purina® products.

 

As a WRHS supporter, you can clip weight circles from bags of participating Purina brand dog foods, mail them to us or drop them off at the shelter or office. The WRHS will earn Purina Points. We then can redeem Purina Points for rebate checks good toward future purchases of Purina brand dog foods.

Recyclables

Although during Paws to Recycle we make an extra effort to collect aluminum recyclables--the W.R.H.S collects aluminum year round. You may drop your cans off at the shelter (located on 3911 Pumphouse Road) in the bin located at the top of hill. The W.R.H.S will then haul them to the recycling depot for you.
